For a full UPC like 1-23456-78901-2, the calculator uses 78901 and ignores the final check digit 2. If you only enter 5 digits, those 5 digits are treated as the collator number directly. Logic: positions 1–10 use weights 512, 256, 128, 64, 32, 16, 8, 4, 2, 1. Positions 11–17 use weights 64, 32, 16, 8, 4, 2, 1.
